About Me

I'm Maria Telnikoff (she/they) and I am an actor, writer and comic performer originally from Leicester and now based in between East London and the East Midlands.

I am the creator of five-star one-woman show "My Dad Wears A Dress" based on my experience of growing up with a trans-female parent. It had a successful month-long run at the Edinburgh Fringe (Underbelly) and then toured to Nottingham Playhouse, Greenwich Theatre, the Vagina Museum and Camden People's Theatre.

My second show "All The Men Are Going To Hate Me", about my attempt to write The great (Female) Novel of the 21st Century, was chosen to be a part of CPT's Rash Dash Festival and is currently in development, with various performance dates upcoming.

I am a graduate of SOHO Theatre Comedy Labs Plus (taught by Elf Lyons) and the Edinburgh Lab. I co-host an alternative comedy night called "Soft Play Area" in Dalston, committed to amplifying non-cis-male voices in comedy and bringing out one's inner child.

I am Associate Artist with White Noise Theatre and was a writer performer on their production "Plant Gays" exploring the connections between nature and queerness (Omnibus Theatre, The Greenhouse Theatre, Exeter Phoenix and Chapel Barn).
